Moroccan Cultural Artwork

This is a glimpse into the meticulous skilled craftmanship in Moroccan art that is influenced by a fusion of civilizations: Arab, Sub-Saharan, Berber, and Andalusian cultures. Amongst the images presented is the Hammam Mernissi and Spa situated near Bab Boujeloud in the historical city of Fes. There is a parallel set of cube-shaped chairs with its associated washing sink area decorated with blue and white with unparalleled patterns. These patterns can also be found on the Moroccan tiles referred to as Zellig on the wall.

The carved stonework in Fes is intertwined with intricate motifs of tessellated floral, stars, arabesque, and geometric patterns closely aligned with Islamic architecture. Each handcrafted tile has vibrant bold colouration predominantly bright yellow, crimson red, terracotta red, striking orange, and royal blue and is adhered together to create a stunning creation. It connotates balance, cosmic harmony, balance, beauty, and faith with great detail. Much of the Arabic calligraphy in Moroccan script can be found along these Moroccan tiles to create a contemporary design found in mosques, schools, halls kitchens, and other settings. This demonstrates a high artisan quality with equivocal durable resistance against high temperatures. Transitioning from Fes to Meknes, a nearby city, there are pots with unrefined clay and glossy finish that are utilized for all occasions. The plates and bowls made of natural materials and cement and are long-lasting where they are used as home decor and all occassions.
