About

Ramadan is the ninth month of the lunar calendar. Muslims worldwide are eager to boost their spirituality, seek forgiveness, communal support, and abstinence of food and water to empathize with the less fortunate and gain a better focus on our true nature and purpose in life. This blog aims to create an additional place where talents worldwide share their excitement and inspiration through writing, tips, poetry, and recipes. At FST, we dislike the word NO. We always try to be hopeful and avoid the disappointment of buzzing writers especially those who are interested in writing but have contacted us after the deadline or publication release of Farah Ramadan Magazine. Instead of waiting for the next Ramadan, we say, stay do not worry, here is your space.

“If you look for problems, you will find problems. If you look for solutions, you will find solutions.”

Balancing Studies During Ramadan

By Sahlah Nayyar

Ramadan is the month where the doors of Jahannum (Hellfire) are closed and the doors of Jannah (Paradise) are opened. Muslims all around the globe fast during this entire month hope of earning multiple rewards from Allah (The Most High)

However, many students miss out their fasts with silly excuses such as “I cannot fast as my exams are coming up” or “I cannot study while I’m fasting”.

A Mother’s Advice To A Successful Taraweeh Experience With CHILDREN!

By Ayesha Desai

One of my favourite aspects of Ramadan is undoubtedly Taraweeh salah (prayer). Here in the Southern hemisphere, where we’re currently experiencing winter, to see people leave the warmth and comfort of their homes, venture out into the cold, and gather in the masjids in the stillness of the night. Standing shoulder to shoulder, united in Takbeer. United in Rukhu (bowing down). United in Sujood (prostation). Listening to the melodious recitation of the Quran in Shah-rul-Quraan (Month of Quran)!

Reflections from my Journey to Medinah in Ramadan

By Ann Marie Lambert Stock

The driver pulled up in front of our hotel as the ithan of Asr echoed across Medinah. My son rolled our suitcases across the sidewalk into our hotel’s opulent marble lobby. Lining the edges of the lobby were cozy plush green couches trimmed in golden brocade.

Ramadan, my beloved friend

By Hafsa Waseela Abbas

Ramadan is a spiritual-uplifting moment of reflection. A duration of reviving and purifying our scarred hearts as we witness the altering seasons of humans and their actions that either causes us pain or happiness on a daily basis. It is a time of unity with our loved ones, close and far remembering our Creator through dhikr, supplication, fasting, reading Quran, prayer and giving charity.

Why Do We Need To Fast?

By Michelle Schafieh

Ramadan. It is that time of year again when you are checking the time more than you are checking Snapchat, where you are talking less to those around you in fear of scaring them off with your breath, and where you are receiving all sorts of questions from those around you.
