Farah Ramadan Magazine Submission Guidelines

Farah magazine is released on the first day of Ramadan each year. However, submissions take place several months before to give sufficient time for processing.

The Design and Marketing stages occurs during the editing time.

The writers are kept informed throughout the process and will receive Certificate of Participation

Formatting your manuscript

Font: Times New Roman

Font size: 12

Style: Chicago Manual

Spelling: English UK Grammar

Article word count: no less than 300 words, no more than 800.

Type: Submit a how-to article, poems, short story, etc.

Theme: To be determined by Chief Editor (theme varies by year)

Display of Writer’s name: All writers can display their name or initials or can remain anonymous.

Biography: This needs to summarize your job role and interests and should be within the range of 30 to 50 words. Social media details could be added if the writer wishes to network.

Use of images/visuals: If you are uploading images, it needs to be Pexels, Shutterstock, vector, Dreamtimes or Free stock photos.

How to refer to Allah, Prophets, Angel Jibrail, Companions of the Prophets, and Dhikr

Allah (The Most High)

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) OR Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)

Other Prophets: Prophet name in Arabic transliteration (Prophet name in English) (peace be upon him. For example: Prophet Musa (Moses) (peace be upon him)

Angel Jibrail (peace be upon him)

Companions of the Prophet: Name (may Allah have mercy upon him/her) e.g. Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy upon him).

Wife/son/daughter of the Prophet: Name (may Allah have mercy upon him/her) e.g. Maymoonah bint Al-Harith (may Allah have mercy upon her)

Alhamdulilah (All Praise to Allah)

Subhanallah (Glory Be to Allah)

Bismillah Al Rahman Al Raheem (In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

Allahu Akbar (Allah is Great)

By Allah, Allah is more joyful by the repentance of His servant than if one of you found his lost camel in the desert. Whoever comes near to Me by a handspan, I come near to him by an arm’s length.
