About Farah With Me Cancer Project

This is one of the most important projects under Farah Saeed Project with the hope of enlightening the community about what cancer is voluntarily.

Cancer is a disease caused by unregulated growth of abnormal cells from the site of the origin (primary tumour) and can spread to other healthy organs to form secondary tumours via the blood and lymph vessels. This is known as metastasis. After heart disease, it is the second cause of high mortality rates worldwide.

There are more than 200 types of cancers and there are valuable information that can be found on the National Health ServiceCancer Research UKMacMillan Cancer Support and there are many other cancer charities that are specific to a particular cancer who already raise awareness and fundraise for valuable research for better diagnosis and treatment. There are also textbooks and the wealth of knowledge that healthcare professionals have at the NHS and provide advice in-person.

However, the aim of Farah With Me Cancer project have multiple objectives that are distinctive and more differentiated:

We aim to create educational content using different formats for the general community: posters, short articles, videos and self-paced cancer courses on our social media and website to meet all abilities without being categorized. This method also gives ease to be downloadable and shared.

We partake in Cancer Research UK’s cancer awareness calendar where each month is dedicated to a particular cancer through posters, images and quizzes to help break down information for the community.

We participate in World Cancer Day and World Cancer Research Day initiatives with the aim of raising awareness about their definitive campaigns that help make global progress about cancer.

We have recently begin a new initiative which involves non-laboratory based research projects in our spare time on different types of cancers where we hope to do a biannual research journal soon for Early Career Cancer Researchers.

Most importantly all for FREE.

Effort does not have a price tag as long as we are doing something good for the community and is beneficial, it is worth the time.
