Lecture Eighteen: Other Diagnostic Techniques For Cancer
Aim: To review further diagnostic testing techniques performed in a post-physical examination, for instance, sputum (lung cancer), urine tests, bone scan, and imaging techniques that end with ‘opy’, ‘graphy’, and ‘gram’. To discuss a key laboratory technique, Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH), and how it detects some cancers. Providing insight into some novel developments in tumour markers in biological specimens was also disclosed.
