The dynamic relation between Palestinian art and culture with the ongoing brutal war influences cultural narratives and viscerally evokes the emotional responses from the resilient Palestinians and also the global community who observe the atrocities and are unable to express themselves and the impact of violence.
Art is a therapeutic method for anyone traumatized by the preventable conflict and their experience of suffering, resilience and impact of violence that does not spare neither the fraility of the elderly, the young who have not reached their puberty nor explore the world, the disabled who does not understand what is happening, the pregnant that carries the unborn into the diaspora and the defenseless women who has her ambitions alongside her duty to her family, husband and home. Nevertheless, the hospitality of the Palestinians continues based on the engraved philosophy of welcoming and comforting others.
Palestinian art and culture are deeply rooted and intertwined with the Levantine and other cultures and religions, traced back centuries, influencing the food, language, music, and art. At first, the Byzantine two-dimensional patterns were heavily applied in the area during its era and later reemerged in the 19th century by the Christian monks (Fullmer, n.d.). After the advent of Islam in 634 AD, the motifs, symbols, and shapes were integral to the conventional and contemporary Palestinian art that is taught, cherished, and passed down from generation to another like a domino effect, to respect and protect the Palestinian traditional heritage.
The constant restrictions and lack of support in art allowed artists to use alternative raw materials to master art pieces, for instance, dyes, wood, sand, leather, and clay. It was further broadened by introducing surrealism, abstraction, multimedia, and photography (Fullmer, n.d.).
Till this day, there is a lot to learn about the Palestinian art and culture, from delicious food to monuments, embroidery, garments, and other traditional customs. On 10th August 2022, we held our fourth virtual art exhibition titled ‘Unrevealing the beauty of Palestinian Art’, whose submissions were open to all backgrounds and ages with the aim of unifying respect and unity to create a peaceful atmosphere in the Middle East. We have also provided an insight into the art and cultural customs, such as the origins of Tatreez embroidery, the Dome of the Rock, and the Keffiyah.

Artistic Art Virtual Exhibition
This versatile artbook brings peace and harmony of the varied cultures and religions that imbue Palestine with a distinctive pattern and eloquent beauty. It contains art pieces submitted for Artistic Season Four virtual art exhibition titled: Unrevealing the beauty of Palestine. This exhibition took place on the 10th August 2022. A range of styles and media was used by the aspiring artists, and painting is the ultimate medium favorably used. The people of Palestine never fail to inspire us through their courage, patience, talent, and determination. Their different forms of art, from embroidery, cooking, painting, pottery, and other types of art, present their level of creativity and a narrative of their social, cultural, and political elements as a form of survival against the oppression they face daily from the Zionist armed forces. As a humanitarian, we like to support and showcase Palestinian Art as a theme that channels their unspeakable pain and hope. Get inspired.
