Artistic Season 7
Sudan is…
a North-Eastern African country surrounded by compass-like countries: Egypt to its North, Eritrea and Ethiopia to its East, South Sudan to its South, the Central African Republic (CAR) to the Southwest, and Chad to the West and Libya to the Northwest.

Sudan is…
woven with African and Arab influences that shape its history, culture, traditions, and natural landscapes that bring wonders to the eyes.
It is now one of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis

Over the past two decades, there were two civil wars and a catastrophic crisis in Western Darfur. Since April 2023, a malicious and bitter battle between the Sudanese Armed Forces (the National army) and Rapid Support Forces has taken place in the capital Khartoum and then escalated to many parts of Sudan. Thousands have died.
Millions have been displaced.
Famine and insecurity have caused a mass healthcare risk.
The list goes on.
Turning the tide…

The Farah Saeed Team in collaboration with Sudanese Society in Brighton and Hove aim to create…

Mercy On Sudan Poetry Anthology

We are looking for poetry submissions from the Sudanese and non-Sudanese communities from all faiths, races, and ages, where they can voice their emotions and experiences on the crisis. This will be collated to produce a virtual poetry anthology book released in the Summer.
Guidelines On Poetry Submissions
1. How long can the poetry submission be?
No more than one side of A4 paper, please.
2. Does it have to be of a particular poetic style?
Any style is accepted, but no offensive language or swearing.
3. I would like to pair up with a friend or relative for the poetry art submission. Is this possible?
This is a nice idea; however, each person must submit individually.
4. Do I need to put my full name on the poetry submission?
You may publish your name or remain anonymous.
For participants under 16 years old: if they choose to have their name published, it will be their first name only as part of safeguarding procedures.
For instance, instead of Noura Mohamed, it would be ‘Noura.’
Poetry submissions from adults have several options: publish their full name, or first name only, or remain anonymous.
5. Do I need to submit a biography?
This is optional and should not be more than 30 words.
Sharing your social media details is optional, too.
6. Do I need to be Sudanese to submit poetry?
The Sudanese massacre is a humanitarian crisis. We welcome all to speak up for our brothers and sisters in humanity.
7. Where can I submit?
Please email thefarahsaeedtrust@hotmail.com
8. When is the submission deadline?
Saturday 28th February 2026.
9. Can I submit it early?

All participants will receive a Certificate for Participation and have their work published in an anthology book.
The ultimate prize is the war to stop and people of Sudan to feel whole again.
